As the only non-empty green-carriage train in the Yangtze River Delta region, this K8525 train undertakes the transport of residents of a number of county and town sites between Hefei and Wuhu. The train takes 3 hours and 43 minutes for one run, which is nearly twice as long as the newer air-conditioned trains, but it also attracts a lot of tourists by virtue of its "slowness". The rapid popularity of high-speed railway nowadays has made old trains like K8525 with only four carriages and openable windows very rare. "Most of the passengers on this train are workers in Hefei and Wuhu or some college students who go to school in the province. The fares are also very cheap, you even only need to spend six yuan to go from Hefei to Lujiang", said train conductor Zhao Liyang. One of the most impressive things about this train is that it is affordable, and some of the people who live in Longqiao, Lujiang and Yaogou are regular passengers on the train. Later on, because the train passes through the mountains, the Yangtze River, the countryside and many other scenic areas, some photography enthusiasts and train enthusiasts also began to join them.

Xu Zimo from Heilongjiang is a train enthusiast. He had previously seen videos of this "old train" on the Internet, and now he has come to experience it during the summer holiday. "Because I just went through the nervousness of the high school entrance examination, I really like the slow feeling this train gives me."

Due to work, traveller Wang Dan often takes this train between Hefei and Lujiang County. He told the reporter that the train is slow, but he likes it very much. "There are always beautiful views along the way, and it's very comfortable to sit on the train with the windows open and the wind blowing after work." Wang Dan said he is also a photography enthusiast, and several times he took a camera specifically to take pictures on the train.

"If travellers like it, I'm happy", said train conductor Zhao Liyang, "Our train can bring travellers a different experience from other trains". Zhao Liyang told reporters that with the rapid development of the Yangtze River Delta region, especially in this decade, colleagues are almost all on the high speed trains. There are only a few conductors like him who still stick to the old trains. But Zhao Liyang stubbornly believes that their "real" green-carriage train serves a necessary purpose. "Development does not just mean economic development alone, but also the warmth between people. Like our train, in fact, many passengers have already know each other. Many travellers bring their friends, family, children, to experience the train and take photos, we are like friends now. Society is developing and we are also as warm and harmonious as a big family."
