Taihe County in China is home to the largest wholesale center for western medicines in the country. With over 5,000 drug companies selling more than 25,000 kinds of medicines, the center has become a hub for the pharmaceutical industry. In recent years, Taihe has shifted its focus to research and development, and manufacturing of medicine, resulting in the establishment of 59 pharmaceutical companies in the Taihe Economic Development Zone.
