As one of the top 10 manufacturing provinces in China, Anhui is making steady progress in the high-quality development of its manufacturing industry.
Back in 2021, Anhui became one of the country's top 10 manufacturing provinces for the first time, when the added value of its manufacturing industry surpassed 1 trillion yuan ($144.3 billion) by 2020.
In 2021, Anhui's output of refrigerators, washing machines, color TVs, and air conditioners ranked second in the country. And every one in three refrigerators, four washing machines and five air conditioners produced in China was "made in Anhui."
Meanwhile, the province's new energy vehicle output hit 252,000 units in 2021, ranking first in the central regions and fifth in China. In addition, its output of industrial robots climbed to 16,000 units, with the production of six-axis industrial robots topping the country.
Figures from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show that the added value of China's manufacturing sector reached 31.4 trillion yuan in 2021.
Anhui is reaping the benefits of its marked achievements in bolstering the high-quality development of its manufacturing industry, said Niu Nutao, director of the Anhui Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology.

In addition, its manufacturing industry, and its digital economy have both exceeded 1 trillion yuan.
Anhui also witnessed the high-quality development index of its manufacturing industry rank seventh in the country and first in the central regions.
