The "Implementation Plan for the Quality Improvement Action of Expressway Service Areas in Anhui Province" issued this year proposed to accelerate the continued construction of 7 pairs of expressway service areas in Suixi, Feidong, Longmensi, Qianjun, fushan, Jiashan, and Zhucun.

The reporter learned from the transportation department that the Chaohu service area, which was renovated in advance, was put into use in September last year. In addition, the base structure of two Feidong service areas has been completed, and the overall project progress is 80%. One of the areas is expected to be completed by the end of October.

It is worth mentioning that more electric vehicle charging piles will be added in expressway service areas. The transport department has signed a new agreement with the State Grid to construct charging piles and plans to pilot mobile charging services in Fengle, Chaohu, and Xinqiao service areas. Besides, six mobile charging equipment have been introduced to serve during peak hours.

In Anhui, 96 pairs of service areas have built electric vehicle charging piles, and it is expected to reach 100 pairs by the end of this year. In addition, the transportation department has accelerated the construction of battery-swap stations and signed a cooperation agreement with NIO. Up to now, 18 battery-swap stations have been built in Anhui's expressway.

Chaohu Service Area, located 129 kilometers away from Wuhu-Hefei Expressway, has not only enriched its business forms after the renovation but also focused on the construction of intelligent toilets.

The Feidong service area is still being upgraded. The renovated service area will be equipped with infant rooms, unisex toilets, U+ station, and shower rooms; and will increase investment in the construction of intelligent facilities, such as smart toilets, high-definition monitoring, etc., to provide better service for the drivers and passengers .
