General Secretary Xi Jinping once made important instructions, requiring Anhui to adhere to reform, opening up, and high-quality development and to make new and greater progress in accelerating the construction of a beautiful Anhui. In the past 10 years, the regional GDP of Anhui has exceeded 2 trillion, 3 trillion, and 4 trillion yuan successively, and last year was nearly 4.3 trillion yuan. The added value of industries above the designated size in Anhui increased by 9.9% annually, of which the output value of strategic emerging industries increased by 19.8% annually. Anhui has been striving to achieve leapfrog development from "a major province of science and education" to "a source of scientific and technological innovation" and a "traditional agricultural province" to "a gathering place for emerging industries". It has taken the lead in technological innovation and industrial development in the fields such as quantum communication, dynamic memory chips, alumics new materials, and ultra-thin glass. In the manufacturing industry, the number of sub-industries with an output value exceeding 100 billion yuan has reached 14, and the added value of the manufacturing industry and digital economy both exceeded 1 trillion yuan.
