Bengbu, Huangshan and Lu 'an in Anhui province have been officially named as National Health Cities for the 2018-2020 period, according to a recent decision issued by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee. According to the newly revised Patriotic Health Regulations of Anhui Province in 2020, governments at all levels are required to apply the concept of full lifecycle health management to every procedure in the process of urban planning, construction, and management. Events of creating sanitary towns, villages and institutions should be organized throughout the province, and the health management system should be further enhanced in accordance with national standards in order to improve urban-rural development and residents' health levels simultaneously. In recent years, Anhui has been actively carrying out a variety of patriotic health promoting events. So far, there are six cities named as National Health Cities in the province, which are Maanshan, Tongling, Xuancheng, Bengbu, Huangshan, and Lu 'an.
