China's manufacturing PMI edges down in December

The purchasing managers' index (PMI) for China's manufacturing sector came in at 51.9 in December, edged down 0.2 percentage points from November, the National Bureau of Statistics said Thursday.

A reading above 50 indicates expansion, while a reading below reflects contraction.
