Made-in-Anhui TCM drug recommended for treating COVID-19

A TCM drug produced in East China’s Anhui province has been recommended for treating COVID-19, according to a diagnosis and treatment protocol  released recently.

The National Health Commission and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine unveiled the Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol for Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (Trial Version 9) last week, recommending Dispelling Wind and Detoxifying Capsules for those who are under medical observation.

It is the sixth time that the drug has been inscribed in the plan, from Version 4 to Version 9. It has won the National Patent Gold Award, the Science and Technology Award of Chinese Medical Association and the Anhui Science and Technology Award.

Research showed adding Dispelling Wind and Detoxifying Capsules could significantly shorten patents’ recovery period and reduce their days of fatigue and coughs, compared with the mere antiviral treatment.
