China's Anhui reports new local COVID-19 infection

HEFEI, July 25 (Xinhua) -- East China's Anhui Province Sunday
reported a new locally transmitted asymptomatic COVID-19 case in the
city of Wuhu. The carrier is a close contact of a previously reported COVID-19
infection case in Nanjing, capital of the neighboring Jiangsu Province,
according to the COVID-19 prevention and control headquarters in Wuhu. Authorities have put the carrier under isolated medical observation
and started contact tracing. Citywide nucleic acid testing is underway. Nanjing has seen a recent COVID-19 outbreak, and Saturday reported
two new confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and two
asymptomatic cases. By Saturday, the number of confirmed locally
transmitted cases in the city's latest epidemic outbreak had risen to
37, with another 20 asymptomatic cases. Enditem
