The exhibition of Anhui Province's high-quality plays kicked off with Huiju Opera 'The Story of Liu Ming-chuan' performed in Beijing

At 7:30 pm on November 29th, the Beijing Chang'an Grand Theater was packed to capacity. Amidst the interplay of light and shadow, the Huiju Opera "The Story of Liu Ming-chuan", performed by Anhui Huijing Opera Theater and starring Wang Yushu, the winner of the China Plum Blossom Award, officially opened.

Huiju Opera is one of the originating genres of Beijing Opera and also a representative of Anhui culture. The Huiju Opera "The Story of Liu Ming-chuan" that is being performed in Beijing this time is a revised and rehearsed version based on the original created in 1996. The blending of history and modernity brings a unique audiovisual feast to the audience.

The Huiju Opera "The Story of Liu Ming-chuan" was the opening performance of the "New Era, New Huiban (opera troupes from Anhui), New Outlook" high-quality plays exhibition jointly organized by the Publicity Department of CPC Anhui Provincial Committee, Anhui Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and Anhui Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

The exhibition will last until January 17 next year. During this period, Anhui Province will organize 8 provincial theater troupes to perform 21 plays in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou and some cities in the province with 12 excellent repertoires, including the rehearsed classics such as Huangmei Opera "Marriage of the Fairy Princess", "Female Consort Prince", "Dream of the Red Chamber" and Huiju Opera "The Story of Liu Ming-chuan", covering various categories such as Huiju Opera, Huangmei Opera, Huaibei Bangzi Opera, drama, musical and dance drama, highlighting the unique charm of Anhui's cultural heritage.
