On the morning of April 20th, an exhibition named "Drinking the Water of the Same River - Special Exhibition of Bronze Age Civilization in Sanxingdui and the Yangtze River Valley" was officially opened to the public at the new site of Anhui Museum. The exhibition is jointly organized by Anhui Museum, Sichuan Museum, the Yangtze River Basin Museum Alliance, and nearly 20 other cultural and historical institutions across the country.

The exhibition showcases over 140 pieces/sets of rare cultural relics from various cultural systems of the bronze civilization, such as Bashu culture, Jingchu culture, and Wuyue culture, dating from the Shang Dynasty to the Warring States Period. The exhibits include various types, such as bronze, gold, ivory, jade, and primitive porcelain.

During the era of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties (generally known as the Bronze Age of China), ancient Chinese people in the Yangtze River basin created multiple bronze civilizations that had their own systems and regional characteristics based on the bronze casting techniques absorbed from the Central Plains and indigenous natural and cultural environments. Anhui Province, spanning across the Yangtze River and Huai River, has 12 counties in 5 cities intersected by the Yangtze River from southwest to northeast. It was previously an important hub for cultural exchanges as a transitional zone between the Central Plains and the southern states during the Shang and Zhou era. The ancestors here created the unique bronze civilization of the Yangtze River and Huai River area.

The bronze civilizations of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River basin are mutually tied and have significant influences on each other. Together they formed the core of China's bronze age culture. The exquisite bronze artifacts found in the Yangtze River basin not only mirror the art, life, and technologies of the time, but also work as records of cultural exchanges, inheritance, and identity of residents of the region.
