On July 13, the reporter learned from the press conference that recently, the Anhui provincial government issued the "Implementation Plan for Deepening the Reform of Academic Discipline and Major Structure in Colleges and Universities to Serve the Industrial Innovation and Development (2022-2025)". The plan is an overall design for the construction of higher education and discipline system in line with social and economic development, to promote the industrial transformation and upgrading of Anhui province, and to promote the high-quality development of higher education under the new situation. According to the plan, by 2025, the proportion of academic disciplines and majors serving the top ten emerging industries should reach more than 70%, and the number of relevant talents number should reach 2 million, including more than 25,000 high-level talents, more than 700,000 application-oriented talents, and more than 350,000 technical and skilled talents. Strive to make the ratio of graduates from the University of Science and Technology of China and Hefei University of Technology to stay in Anhui gradually reach 40%. In the last round of national discipline evaluation, the overall level of academic discipline development in colleges and universities in Anhui was relatively low. In this regard, the "Implementation Plan" proposes a high-quality five-year plan for constructing peak disciplines (high-level academic disciplines) and building a peak discipline group that supports scientific and technological innovation. Specifically, it supports the development of world-class disciplines in mathematics, physics, chemistry, astronomy, geophysics, biology, history of science and technology, materials science and engineering, computer science and technology, nuclear science and technology, and safety science and engineering at the USTC; management science and engineering at the Hefei University of Technology; materials science and engineering at the Anhui University. It also supports Anhui University of Science and Technology and other high-level universities in developing Class A disciplines.
