Anhui to organize performance tour in former impoverished counties

In order to consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation and give full play to the role of culture in rural revitalization, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Anhui Province said on August 19 that the province will carry out a public-interest rural performance tour from September to December.

According to the plan, a total number of 2,624 performances will be presented to townships and villages in former national and provincial level impoverished counties, 2,514 to national levels and 110 to provincial levels. These performances will consist of operas, song and dance shows, folk art shows, and sketches that are created in recent years and focus on realistic themes such as rural vitalization and social etiquette and civility in rural areas. All the performances are sponsored by the Department of Culture and Tourism, and are required to last no less than 90 minutes and follow strict rules of pandemic control.
