Anhui holds 40th "Bird-loving week" event

From April 4 to 10, Anhui Forestry Bureau and Anhui Wildlife Conservation Association organized the 40th "Bird-loving week" event with the theme of "Love and protect birds, live with all creatures in harmony".

At present, Anhui has 354 species of birds, 55 families and 17 orders, accounting for 29.5% of the total number of bird species in China, among which 75 species are under state priority conservation. In Anhui, lakes in the Yangtze River and Huaihe River basin are the wintering grounds where every year over 200 thousand wintering waterbirds gather. This year, red-crowned cranes were even spotted wintering at Shijiu Lake in Dangtu County, a phenomenon that has no record in the past 30 years.
