1347 selected as Anhui's "Rural Culture Leaders"

Recently, the list of the first batch of Anhui's "Rural Culture Leaders" was announced jointly by the Publicity Department of Anhui Provincial Party Committee, the Civilization Committee Office of Anhui, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Anhui, and Anhui Federation of Literary and Art Circles. A total of 1347 people in 16 cities were selected.

The "Rural Culture Leaders" are determined through the procedures of application, primary election, soliciting opinions, level-by-level recommendation, and review. These leaders are selected from those who have special talents in music, dance, traditional opera, and Chinese quyi (traditional Chinese oral performing arts). They should be committed to developing local culture and enriching the cultural life of villagers. According to policies, they will be offered opportunities of training, participation in poverty-alleviation projects, exhibition of achievements, publicity, and various other advantages from government departments to help cultivate their talents and influence.
