Recently, it was learned that the unit survey work of the Fifth National Economic Census in the province has been fully launched. Approximately 75,000 census supervisors and census takers will conduct on-site visits to verify the basic information of all legal entities, industrial activity units, as well as self-employed households engaged in the secondary and tertiary sectors in the entire province. This work will lay the foundation for the official registration in 2024. It is reported that the Fifth National Economic Census will comprehensively investigate the scale, layout, and performance of the development of the secondary and tertiary industries in our province, grasp the basic information of various types of units, understand the economic links between different sectors of the national economy, and objectively reflecting new progress in various aspects. Compared with the previous four economic censuses, the economic structure and development environment faced in this census have undergone significant changes, showing a high degree of complexity and variability. As of the end of June this year, the total number of operating entities in the province reached 7.712 million. Among them, there were 2.278 million enterprises and 5.317 million individual businesses. The number of operating entities has increased by approximately 70% compared to five years ago, with large unit sizes and complex types. The person in charge of the Anhui Provincial Economic Census Office stated that units survey is an important foundation and prerequisite for the official registration of the economic census, as well as a key aspect in accurately determining the census objects, standardizing the implementation scope of various census report forms, and ensuring the smooth implementation of the economic census. Only by identifying and verifying the census objects comprehensively and accurately can we ensure that the achievements of economic development are fully and objectively reflected based on the actual situation.
