On July 27, the reporter learned from the Anhui Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology that several "made in Anhui" new energy vehicles (NEVs) have become wildly popular in the market, and Anhui's auto exports have reached a record high. "In the first half of the year, Anhui's automobile industry achieved rapid progress and made outstanding contributions to the industrial economy." According to data released by the Anhui Provincial Department of Economic and Information Technology, in the first half of the year, the cumulative production of automobiles in Anhui was 781,000, a year-on-year increase of 6.1%; of which 214,000 were NEVs, a year-on-year increase of 94.1%, accounting for 27.4% of the provincial total. The industrial added value of the automobile manufacturing industry increased by 10.3% year-on-year in the first half of the year. It is worth mentioning that NEVs have maintained rapid growth. In the first half of the year, JAC Group (including NIO automobile) produced 81,600 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 43.5%. Chery Group has made a total of 112,000 NEVs, a year-on-year increase of 178%. Hua Ling Automobile has produced 1,740 new energy medium-and heavy-duty commercial vehicles, an increase of 3 times yearly; the sales volume of battery-swapped tractors has reached 521, ranking first in the market, accounting for 6.8% of the national total. The reporter learned that some Anhui-made cars have become very popular in the market. Among them, the Chery Tiggo 8 series achieved sales of 78,000 units in the first half of the year; in the meantime, the total sales of "QQ Ice Cream" and "Little Ant" exceeded 100,000 units. Hefei Changan's CS75Plus sold 95,000 units in the first half of the year. In June, NIO delivered 4,349 units of its high-end pure electric coupe ET7. JAC's Kangling, Junling, Shuailing, and other series rank second in the light truck segment. Additionally, Anhui-made cars also sold well in foreign markets, and exports have hit a new record high. In the first half of the year, Chery Group exported 148,000 vehicles, an increase of 25% year-on-year, accounting for 31% of total sales. JAC Group exported 48,700 vehicles in total, a year-on-year increase of 42.7%. As an export-oriented automobile enterprise, Anqing Zhenyi has produced a total of 51,000 sets, a year-on-year increase of 5.2 times. The annual output value of Zhenyi is expected to reach 10 billion yuan (about 1.48 billion U.S. dollars). The epidemic severely impacted the auto industry chain in the first half of the year. The achievement in the auto industry is hard-won and inseparable from a good business environment. To accelerate the development of the NEV industry, Anhui actively promotes Hefei to become a national comprehensive pilot city for the application of battery-exchange mode and promotes Hefei and Wuhu to become national pilot cities for coordinated development of smart city infrastructure and intelligent connected vehicles. "(the government) organized NEV manufacturers to apply to the state for subsidies for the promotion and application of NEVs, which involves 267,700 NEVs. And the manufacturers received subsidies of 4.923 billion yuan (about 7.3 billion U.S. dollars)." Recently, Anhui has also held a production-demand matchmaking meeting to allow key enterprises in the province to help automobile and equipment manufacturing industries in Yuexi county, Anqing City. Four enterprises, including JAC and Chery, signed a purchase agreement totaling 196 million yuan with four parts and components enterprises in Yuexi.
