The import and export of Anhui province to countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road achieved 143.67 billion yuan between January and October, up 35 percent from the same period last year, according to Hefei customs. The province’s import and export to countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) reached 15.72 billion yuan in October, up 38 percent, accounting for 25.4 percent of the total import and export value of the province in the same period last year. Anhui’s general trade with those countries reached 11.91 billion yuan in October, an increase of 41.8%, accounting for 75.8% of the total foreign trade value of the province to those countries. Meanwhile, processing trade decreased by 15.8%, and bonded logistics increased by 64.8%. The import and export of private enterprises stood at 9.88 billion yuan, up by 48.2 percent and accounting for 62.8%. The import and export of state-owned enterprises and foreign enterprises increased by 25.7% and 21.1%, respectively. The trade between Anhui and Thailand increased by 73%. India, Malaysia and Thailand were the top three trading partners, with a combined share of 28.4 percent. The export of mechanical and electrical products was 6.54 billion yuan, up by 20.7%, accounting for 61.5% of the provincial export value in the same period last year.
