Anhui, where World Manufacturing Convention was held in each of the past three years, was ranked among China’s top ten provinces by manufacturing development level for the first time, according to the latest white paper on high quality development of the manufacturing industry recently released by CCID, a think tank under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The top ten provincial regions were Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Beijing, Shandong, Shanghai, Fujian, Hubei, Hunan and Anhui. Seven out of them are located in the eastern part of the country and the remaining three ones are from the middle part. Anhui was a new member of the top ten club. Judging from the profits of industrial enterprises, Anhui took the tenth spot. Guangdong, whose industrial enterprises made the largest profits in 2019, ranked first, followed by Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Assessing from the ability to innovate and quality and efficiency, Anhui ranked seventh. The top ten regions were Guangdong, Jiangsu, Beijing, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Shandong, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing in terms of innovation level in 2019. Anhui and Chongqing made the list for the first time. The white paper evaluated the development level of the manufacturing industry in each province in 2019 based on six indicators: scale and structure, innovation capability, quality and efficiency, energy saving and environment conservation, open and cooperation and corporate capacity.(By Yang Zixuan)
