Anhui province ranked 9th in a comprehensive evaluation of high-quality growth of China’s manufacturing, according to the local department of economy and information technology. The evaluation, the first of its kind, was unveiled by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. Facing the complicated situation of rising risks and challenges both at home and abroad in 2019, the province stepped up efforts to keep its industrial growth within a reasonable range. Industrial firms with annual turnover over 20 million yuan posted a year-on-year increase of 7.3 percent in value-added output between January and November, higher than the national average of 5.6 percent. The growth brought the province to the 9th place in the country. The province was home to 19 national outstanding small- and medium-sized companies last year, ranking first in the country. It also led the country in digital transformation of industry. Meanwhile, Anhui received 302 million yuan of national funds as subsidies on small and micro enterprises’ loan guarantee. The funds were larger than any other province's. The province’s industrial investment rose 10 percent year-on-year in the Jan-Nov period. Its injection into technical innovation climbed 13.8 percent, and its investment in manufacturing increased 11.3 percent.
