East China's Anhui province will greet more than 4,000 participants from over 60 countries and regions when the four-day World Manufacturing Convention 2019 opens on Friday in Hefei, the provincial capital, with a spectrum of colorful events.
The convention aims to promote the province's advanced manufacturing to the world while introducing outside advanced manufacturing to Anhui, with a focus on creating a new future for smart manufacturing by joining hands with small and medium-sized enterprises from around the world.
In addition to government officials, more than 70 business leaders from Fortune Global 500 enterprises are also expected to participate in the convention.
According to Anhui Vice-Governor Zhou Xi'an, during the gala, the project matchmaking programs will cover matchmaking among State-owned enterprises, private enterprises, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan enterprises, foreign enterprises and other overseas Chinese enterprises.
Among the 4,000 participants, there will be more than 500 manufacturing leaders and renowned company executives from home and abroad.
Meanwhile, 30 parallel sessions will open during the convention, including SMEs quality manufacturing high-level forum, China's private manufacturing development forum, an industrial internet high-level forum, AI: China's Speech Valley high-level forum, an intelligent connected vehicles high-level forum and a smart manufacturing and innovation forum.
During the convention, visitors can tour 10 exhibition areas showcasing world and domestic manufacturing products and technologies. These areas cover international manufacturing, Yangtze River Delta integration, intelligent manufacturing, high-end manufacturing, service-oriented manufacturing, green manufacturing, digital economy, commodity trading and autonomous vehicles.
Anhui Governor Li Guoying called on the province to seize the opportunity to "build a global manufacturing event with international influence".
Li said the World Manufacturing Convention, as a high-end platform for strengthening global manufacturing exchanges and cooperation, is of great significance in accelerating the development of advanced manufacturing industries in Anhui.
Some 1,000 key investment projects in Anhui have been selected to seek cooperation during the convention, with an aim to see agreement signatures in 600 cooperative projects with a total investment exceeding 500 billion yuan ($71.4 billion).
The province's 16 prefecture-level cities will also organize their own exhibitions to showcase their respective manufacturing power and cooperation projects.
