Central-budget investment approved to Anhui

Anhui province has been approved to get 1.09 billion yuan of central-budget investment to build high-quality farmland covering an area of 1.02 million mu (68,000 hectares), according to People’s Daily Online.

To build high-quality farmland is to improve the infrastructure of farmland, make farmland contiguous, water-saving, high-yield and eco-friendly, stabilize the planting area of grain, and raise the overall production capacity, the report said.

The province will build 13 million mu of high-quality farmland during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).

The Development and Reform Commission of Anhui Province will work together with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Anhui Province to allocate the budgetary investment to relevant counties and county-level cities and districts on schedule, according to the report.
