A China-Europe freight train departs Hefei, capital of east China’s Anhui province, on Feb 16, 2022. It is bound for Hanoi, Vietnam. A freight train carrying 82 TEUs of exports left Hefei, capital of east China’s Anhui province, for Hanoi of Vietnam on Wednesday, marking the first China-Europe train from the Chinese city to Hanoi.
The train, loaded with more than US$1.36 million worth of made-in-Anhui products such as PVC films, floor mats, calcium-zinc composite stabilizers and trailers, is expected to arrive at Pingxiang Port in south China’s Guangxi in 65 hours and reach Hanoi in about three to four days. The Hefei-Hanoi train will go on a regular basis, according to Hefei Freight Transport Center. It opens up a new logistics channel for exporting homegrown products to Southeast Asia. It also improves the efficiency in transporting goods to Vietnam, compared to the sea transport which takes nearly half a month. Hefei has operated 103 China-Europe trains since the beginning of 2022, up 41.7 percent year-on-year. 36 among them are return trains.
