Industrial firms with annual turnover over 20 million yuan (about US$ 3.1 million) in Anhui province posted a year-on-year increase of 10.9 percent in value-added output in the Jan-Nov period in 2021, sending the two-year average growth to 8.1 percent and bringing the province to the 7th place in China, local authorities said at a press conference on Monday. The province received a fund of 426 million yuan for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, ranking 1st in the country, said Niu Nutao, head of the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Anhui Province. The operating income of the electronic information manufacturing industry exceeded 500 billion yuan in 2021. Meanwhile, 14 more enterprises recorded more than 10 billion yuan in business revenue, bringing the provincial total to 50. The annual output of new energy vehicles exceeded 200,000, up 150 percent year on year. The value-added output of the manufacturing sector made up 27.9 percent of the province’s gross domestic product (GDP) last year, compared to 26.3 percent a year earlier. Five local companies won individual manufacturing champions. The province’s integrated circuit industry was included in China’s layout of major production capacities for the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025). In addition, Hefei Intelligent Speech Cluster was named the national advanced manufacturing cluster, and Hefei New Display Base and Jieshou Recycling Base were rated as five-star national new industrialization demonstration bases. 81 industrial internet platforms were established last year, 23 of which were designated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as key ones. Anhui aims to increase value-added output of major industrial firms by around 8 percent in 2022, according to Niu.
