Four cities in east China's Anhui province - Hefei, Wuhu, Chuzhou and Fuyang - made the list of China's top 100 cities in terms of overall competitiveness, according to a recent report released by CCID Consulting. Hefei, capital of the province, ranked 15th on the annual list. In addition, Wuhu, Chuzhou and Fuyang took the 56th, 86th, 96th places, respectively. The report assessed the high-quality development level of 293 prefecture-level cities in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan as well as municipalities directly under the central government) in various aspects such as economic scale, development quality and efficiency, overall vitality, and innovation potential. Focusing on key economic indicators, the report explored new strategies and measures to promote the high-quality development of urban economy and society. 95 out of the top 100 cities are located in 18 city clusters, the list showed. The Yangtze River Delta region saw 24 cities on the list, ranking 1st . It was followed by the urbon agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
