East China’s Anhui province has released a list of this year’s top 100 enterprises, with 12 newcomers on it. Anhui Conch Cement Co. topped the list with an annual operating revenue of 261.7 billion yuan (US$41.1 billion), followed by Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holdings Co. with 209.1 billion yuan, according to the list. LCFC (Hefei) Electronics Technology Co., whose annual revenue reached 128.0 billion yuan, took the third spot, replacing Ma’anshan Iron & Steel Group Corp.for the first time. Since the annual list was first unveiled in 2004, the top three places have been taken by Anhui Conch Cement Co., Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holdings Co. and Ma’anshan Iron & Steel Group Corp.. The Ma’anshan-based iron and steel giant slipped to fourth this year, with an annual revenue of 120.3 billion yuan. The number of private enterprises on the list hit 53, while the number of state-owned firms dropped to 47. 12 companies made the top 100 for the first time, while some former top 100 enterprises engaged in traditional industries failed this year, signaling a reshuffle of driving forces of the province's economic growth. Hefei, capital of the province, was home to 58 top 100 companies, the list showed.
