The number of market entities in East China’s Anhui province reached 5.8 million in late November, up 110.34 percent from the end of 2015, local authorities said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
The province has achieved remarkable results in the reform and development of market regulation, continuously unleashed benefits enabled by business system reforms, and enhanced market vitality and social creativity since 2016, the first year in the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), according to Anhui Administration for Market Regulation. The number of market entities grew at an average annual rate of 20.29 percent from 2016 to 2019, Han Yongsheng, head of the administration said. 1.66 million out of the 5.8 million market entities are enterprises, up 155.59 percent from the end of the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-15). The province has deepened business system reforms over the past few years, including streamlining administrative procedures and improving business environment. Anhui has been free from major food, drug and special equipment safety incidents as well as systematic, industrial and regional quality and safety problems since 2016, Han said. The province has also stepped up efforts to protect intellectual property rights, the official added. The number of invention patents per 10,000 residents reached 14.1 at the end of October, up 229.44 percent from 2015.
