Wuhu-Huangshan Expressway to be Completed Next Year

Pub Date:2020-01-02 10:59 Source:www.cnanhui.org

An expressway linking Wuhu and Huangshan in East China’s Anhui province is set to open to traffic in 2021, which will cut the travel time between the two cities, local authorities said.

The 116-km expressway runs from Wuhu’s Fanchang and Nanling counties to Xuancheng’s Jingxian and Jingde counties and Huangshan. It is part of the under-construction expressway from Xuzhou in East China’s Jiangsu province to Fuzhou, capital of East China’s Fujian province.

The two-way four-lane road will allow vehicles to run at a speed of 100 km per hour from Fanchang to Wulingtou Tunnel in Jingxian and at a speed of 80 km per hour between the tunnel and Huangshan. The 5,706-meter tunnel is the longest one along the expressway and also the second longest highway tunnel in the province.
