Anhui: 2023 National Mass Mountaineering and Fitness Conference begins

On May 14th, the 2023 National Mass Mountaineering and Fitness Conference (Jinzhai competition) and the "Sports Lottery Cup" National Mountaineering Competition sponsored by the China Mountaineering Association, organized by the People's Government of Jinzhai County and undertaken by the Education Bureau (Sports Bureau) of Lu'an City, kicked off with the sound of a starting gun.

The competition was held on the Jinzhai National Mountaineering and Fitness Trail in Anhui Province, attracting more than 1,300 mountaineering and fitness enthusiasts from across the country. The event featured two groups: a professional mountaineering group and a public fitness group. The professional mountaineering group had a total distance of 23 kilometers and was divided into male and female groups. The general fitness group had a total distance of 6.5 kilometers and did not have any awards to encourage people to participate and enjoy the fun of fitness.

At 8:30 a.m., with the bang of a starting gun, more than 300 professional mountaineering athletes and more than 1,000 public fitness athletes rushed out of the starting gate and began to climb the mountain. Participants followed the Jinzhai National Mountaineering and Fitness Trail and passed through scenic spots such as Meishan Reservoir, Huaili Temple, Xiaoling Camp, Leigong Peak, Shibapan Mountain Pass, and Sancha River, enjoying natural beauty and the wonderful experience of running.

About 90 minutes later, amidst cheers, the participating athletes arrived one after another at the end of the competition. Zhu Yifei from Hefei, Anhui, won first place in the male group of the professional mountaineering group, and Yao Yuzhou from Hefei, Anhui, won first place in the female group of the professional mountaineering group.

"I often participate in such events and really enjoy the pleasure of running and sweating. It's a different kind of experience to participate in a competition in the beautiful scenery of the Dabie Mountains," said one of the participants.
