Chuzhou's 17-year-old Xu Haowen breaks provincial record

On the evening of August 14th, in the youth weightlifting competition of the 15th Anhui Provincial Games, held at the Quanjiao County Sports Center, Xu Haowen, a 17-year-old junior athlete from Chuzhou, lifted the 160-kg weight steadily, broke the provincial record of the 96-kg juvenile group (235 kg) with a total weight lifted of 293 kilograms, which exceeded the original record by 58 kg, and finally won the championship.

"Xu Haowen can snatch 130 kg during daily training, but this time he lifted 133 kg in the snatch category and successfully lifted 160 kg in the clean and jerk category." Xu Haowen's coach Huang Qichun said that Xu Haowen is a competitor-type athlete. This time, he broke the record, first because he performed well on the spot and also because of his hard training and love for weightlifting.

A total of 190 athletes from 14 cities competed for 39 gold medals in this weightlifting competition. All matches have ended, and the traditional weightlifting powerhouse Xuancheng team performed strongly, dominating the weightlifting medal table of the provincial games.
