Recently, Jiaogang Lake in the Maoji Experimental District of Huainan in Anhui has welcomed a special group of "guests"—the swans. According to statistics, there are more than 100,000 birds that have come to Jiaogang Lake this winter.

Jiaogang Lake, a natural freshwater lake in the Huaihe River basin, covers an area of over 60,000 mu and is a national-level wetland park. The lake's reed marshes, lotus ponds, and sandy beaches provide a paradise for birds to inhabit.

In recent years, the Maoji Experimental District has invested 320 million yuan in ecological restoration of water resources and water environment in Jiaogang Lake, and gradually diversified the ecology of Jiaogang Lake. Many rare bird species breed and thrive here. At present, there are 68 species of birds recorded, including national first-class protected animals such as white cranes, white-naped cranes, white storks, black storks, and great bustards, as well as national second-class protected animals such as grey herons, mandarin ducks, and hen harriers.
