Recently, the reporter learned from the Feixi Construction & Management Office of the Anhui Provincial Group Limited for Yangtze-to-Huaihe Water Diversion that the pumping station of the Paihekou junction at the starting point of the connecting section between the Yangtze River and Huaihe River has entered the trial operation stage to prepare for the trial run of the whole project. The pump station is located 100 meters west of Chaohu estuary, and there are nine pumping units in the pump station (eight active, one backup). According to reports, if eight pumping units operate simultaneously, a whole Swan Lake (about 2 million cubic meters) can be pumped out in about 2 hours. It is reported that the pumping station of the Paihekou junction is one of the eight hubs of the Water Diversion Project from the Yangtze River to the Huaihe River. Here, the Yangtze River water will be lifted for the second time with a height of 4.8 meters.
