In recent years, Anhui Province has seized opportunities, increased investment, and made early layouts and the development of high-speed rail has advanced by leaps and bounds. A number of major projects have been completed and put into operation one after another. Anhui's position as a hub in the national railway network has further improved, with high-speed rail operating mileage ranking among the top in the country and nearly 60% of the counties in Anhui are connected to high-speed railways. In 2022, the province's railway industry completed investment of 46.15 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 13.5%, reaching a record high. In the first three quarters of this year, the province's railway industry has already invested 35.174 billion yuan and strives to complete railway investment of over 50 billion yuan for the whole year, with the possibility of setting a new record. The standard of high-speed rail in our province is 350 km/h or 250 km/h, and its scale accounts for 46% of the provincial railway network, which is higher than the national average. The transformation of railway double-track electrification has achieved remarkable results, with a double-track rate of 74.9% and an electrification rate of 79.1% in the provincial network, both of which are higher than the national average. In 2019, our province achieved the goal of having high-speed rail connections to all cities, becoming the second province in China to achieve this. High-speed rail now covers 34 counties. At present, there are direct high-speed trains from Hefei to 23 provincial capital cities and over 120 prefecture-level cities.
