Workers conduct rope seeding in the fields
Technician operates the seed braiding machine. Using a vacuum pump, rice seeds are braided onto non-woven fabric or paper bags On the morning of April 20th, at the experimental plot of Winall Hi-Tech Seed Co., Ltd located in Nangang Town, Shushan District, Hefei City, the reporter saw many workers working. Two workers were seen stretching a rope and laying it in the field where the spacing was fixed in advance. Subsequently, the workers used a pedal to press the rope into the mud. It was introduced that this is the rope-seeding technology. The material of the rope is degradable non-woven fabric, which can naturally degrade when planting the next season's crops. This technology can save manpower. Moreover, because there is no need for secondary transplantation, the adaptation period of seedlings after transplantation is reduced, shortening the growth period by about 10 days. Currently, Shushan District is the first in the province to apply the rope-seeding technology to rice experiments.
