On July 6, China's first megawatt-level hydrogen energy comprehensive utilization demonstration station was put into operation in Lu'an City, marking the first time in our country that the chain of megawatt-level "hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, hydrogen power generation" has been connected.
The station is located in Jin'an Economic Development Zone, Lu'an City. It is invested and constructed by State Grid Anhui Electric Power Co., Ltd., with an installed capacity of 1 MW (1 million watts) and an area of more than 7,000 square meters.
It is mainly equipped with the megawatt-level polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) hydrogen production system, fuel cell power generation and cogeneration system, wind and solar renewable energy power generation system, and power distribution multifunctional building, etc.
It is China's first comprehensive verification and application of hydrogen technology with fully independent intellectual property rights.
The advanced PEM electrolysis hydrogen production technology the station adopted is clean and has zero carbon emissions. The station can produce more than 700,000 Nm^3 (cubic meters) of hydrogen and generate 730,000 kWh of hydrogen energy per year.
The produced hydrogen can be widely used in hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, hydrogen energy steelmaking, green hydrogen chemical industry, and other fields, and the hydrogen power can be used for peak regulation of regional power grids.
State Grid Anhui Electric Power and the government of Lu'an will rely on the station, focus on the comprehensive utilization of hydrogen energy, and promote the large-scale development of the hydrogen energy industry and the new power system.
