New varieties of rice planted in Hefei Science Island

On May 11, researchers at the Hefei Institute of Science and Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences planted 2,300 varieties of rice in an experimental field. In recent years, the Institute of Intelligent Science of Hefei Institute of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences has continuously promoted the research on germplasm innovation of ion beam mutagenesis, discovered the gene of high nitrogen efficiency, crisp stem, and herbicide resistance (glYPhosate) in rice, and cultivated a series of high quality, high efficiency and high yield rice varieties.
