Recently, Chery Group released its new energy vehicle export figures for the first three quarters: the brand exported 529,337 new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 136%. This robust growth serves as a microcosm of Anhui’s thriving auto export drive. According to Hefei Customs, in the first eight months of this year, Anhui posted explosive growth in vehicle exports, shipping out 1.451 million units, up 120%, valued at 152.33 billion yuan, a rise of 110%. Both export volume and value ranked first nationwide. Over the five years of the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Anhui’s foreign trade volume crossed five successive 100-billion-yuan thresholds. It climbed from 545.15 billion yuan at the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan period to surpass the one-trillion-yuan mark in 2025, with its national ranking advancing from 13th to 9th. As Anhui’s foreign trade expands rapidly in scale, its export mix continues to shift toward high-end, smart and green products. In 2025, exports of high-tech products from Anhui reached 159.82 billion yuan, rising 16.6%. Exports of independent brand goods hit 348.32 billion yuan, an increase of 13.2%. Notably, Anhui exported 1.228 million motor vehicles (including chassis), ranking No.1 nationwide by volume with a 28.7% increase, making it China’s first provincial-level region to top one million vehicle exports in a single year. Combined exports of the “new trio” — electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries and photovoltaic products — stood at 101.83 billion yuan, placing Anhui 6th in the country by export value. Statistics show that in the first eight months of this year, Anhui’s exports of the “new trio” reached 120.2 billion yuan, surging 130% and accounting for 20.2% of the province’s total export value. Of this total, electric vehicle exports were 94.46 billion yuan, up 240%; lithium-ion battery exports came to 17.64 billion yuan, a 25% increase.
