Reporters learned from the Anhui Provincial Automotive Industry Office on July 27 that from January to June this year, Anhui produced 1.6867 million motor vehicles, including 881,800 new energy vehicles (NEVs). The province exported 1.006 million vehicles with export value hitting 104.36 billion yuan. All four indicators ranked first nationwide.

These four national top rankings stem from Anhui’s commitment to spearheading development through scientific and technological innovation. The province advances integrated upgrading covering research and development, complete vehicle manufacturing, auto parts and the aftermarket, accelerating the development of an internationally competitive NEV industrial cluster.

In the first half of this year, centering on extending, supplementing and strengthening industrial chains, Anhui hosted a supply-demand matchmaking event for the electrification of transport equipment among provincial state-owned enterprises. The event drew participation from 12 complete vehicle manufacturers (including special vehicle makers) such as Chery Commercial Vehicle, Hanma Technology and Shine Auto, alongside more than 20 provincial-owned enterprises. It facilitated green energy replacement and boosted the electrification of commercial vehicles. Meanwhile, authorities systematically identified corporate demands and held a string of targeted matchmaking events covering industrial transformation and upgrading, supply chain matching, technology exchange and financial services. These events support auto parts enterprises to upgrade toward high-end and intelligent manufacturing and integrate faster into complete vehicle supply chains.

The experience of driving NEVs keeps improving in Anhui. Focused on developing charging and battery-swapping infrastructure, Anhui rolled out a three-year initiative to double charging service capacity. It is systematically building a high-power charging network and striving to build “China’s most NEV-friendly province”. By the end of June, Anhui had built over 1.1 million charging piles/guns in total. A further 98,200 charging piles/guns were added in the first six months, including 16,700 public charging piles/guns. The construction of public charging facilities stayed ahead of schedule against annual targets, with more than 1,900 new high-power charging guns put in place.

It is noted that Anhui turned out 3.6865 million motor vehicles and 1.7941 million NEVs in 2025, both ranking first across the country. Anhui also became China’s first provincial-level region to record annual auto exports exceeding one million units. In 2025, Anhui exported 1.228 million vehicles (including chassis), retaining its national lead with a year-on-year increase of 28.7%.
