On the morning of May 29, a China-Europe Railway Express train departed from the logistics base of Hefei North Railway Station under Hefei Railway Logistics Center. Loaded with mechanical products including color LCD monitors, auto parts and outdoor air conditioning units, as well as light industrial goods such as educational toys, high-grade decorative fabrics, premium shoes and hats, the train headed for Hamburg, Germany across Eurasia via the Alashankou Port. Its departure marked that the total number of trips of China-Europe Railway Express (Hefei) has officially exceeded 6,000 since its launch.

Since the start of this year, China-Europe Railway Express (Hefei) has maintained robust growth, operating 399 trains, a year-on-year increase of 14%. Supported by integrated rail-sea transport, Hefei has further elevated its opening-up capacity. So far this year, the total cargo volume has surpassed 46,000 TEUs, with a total cargo value of nearly 1.1 billion US dollars.

The portfolio of cargo types keeps improving. Products from key sectors including smart home appliances and high-end equipment manufacturing account for over 60% of the total cargo. New export staples such as new energy vehicles, photovoltaic modules, display panels, integrated circuits and LCD screens have become major export products.

To better support the development of local enterprises and facilitate the export of Hefei-made products, a support program for local businesses was launched in April to fully guarantee the transportation demands for local export cargo.

Meanwhile, relevant operators have built a dedicated financial service system, offering one-stop financial services including financing and settlement for enterprises to cut the capital costs of cross-border logistics.

Rooted in the inland and connecting the world, leveraging three national-level platforms — the national China-Europe Railway Express assembly center, national land port logistics hub and national intermodal transport demonstration project — Hefei gives full play to its strengths as a transportation hub and strengthens coordination with surrounding cities, continuously optimizing the route network of its China-Europe Railway Express.

Starting with a single route, the service now reaches 183 international destinations across 20 countries, forming an increasingly extensive transport network.

At present, China-Europe Railway Express (Hefei) operates regular public trains and customized trains for enterprises to Europe and Central Asia with high efficiency, and its southern routes have achieved stable and regular operation. It provides diverse transport options for foreign trade enterprises in Anhui and central China, helping goods reach global markets efficiently and turning this inland city into a new frontier of opening-up.
