On November 16, 2025, the Anhui eSports Innovation and Development Conference was grandly held at the Anhui Baixicheng Comprehensive Theater in Hefei.

The event aimed to build a communication platform for the eSports industry, promote deep integration of eSports with cultural tourism, technology, and other sectors, and inject strong momentum into the development of Anhui’s eSports industry.

In his speech, Le Yucheng, former Deputy Director of the National Radio and Television Administration, said that eSports combines the competitiveness of sport, the narrativity of culture, and the immersion of technology. It has become a new focus of global audio‑visual communication and a new growth pole of the digital economy, with enormous industrial prospects. Anhui’s development of the eSports industry benefits from opportunities for innovation, manufacturing strength, and rich cultural heritage. The province should fully leverage the empowering role of technological innovation, uphold the cultural core and value orientation of content creation, build a collaboratively co‑constructed industrial ecosystem, and empower local economic development.

In his remarks, Yan Wenbin, former Deputy President of Xinhua News Agency, noted that electronic sports—by virtue of their ability to transcend geography, language, and culture—have become a global “universal language” and an important platform for international cultural exchange. He expressed hope that Anhui will undertake further exploration, focus on using eSports to tell China’s story effectively, adhere to the principle of content‑first, develop eSports IP with global influence, and build a diversified, multi‑dimensional international communication matrix to jointly promote the flourishing development of global eSports culture through mutual exchange and learning.

The conference thoughtfully organized two roundtable forums—one focused on “Integration and Development of eSports and Cultural Tourism” and the other on “Recent Trends in Gaming and eSports Development and Future Prospects”.

During the conference, an appointment ceremony was held for expert advisors to the “Anhui eSports Industry Research and Cooperation Base.” Fourteen industry experts were appointed as the first cohort of advisors, marking a key step toward more professionalized and systematized development of Anhui’s eSports industry.
