New-type display is a fundamental, strategic, and pioneering industry. On August 31st, the establishment ceremony of the Anhui New Display Industry Association was held in Hefei Xinzhan High-tech Zone, marking that Anhui's new display industry has entered a new stage of collaborative development. Reporters learned from the conference that currently, the province has formed an "one core, one circle" industrial pattern for its new display sector. Anhui aims to exceed 200 billion yuan in revenue from its new display industry by 2030.

Currently, Anhui accounts for 10% of global capacity in the new display industry and ranks among the top three nationwide. In recent years, this sector has become one of Anhui Province's signature industries.

Anhui was one of the earliest regions in China to develop its new display industry on a large scale.

In 2024, Anhui Province's new display industry achieved revenue exceeding 147 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 31.2%. The province's new display panel production capacity reached approximately 40 million square meters, ranking second nationally and first within the Yangtze River Delta region.

Currently, Anhui has built China's most comprehensive new display cluster, featuring the widest range of product categories, the most complete industrial chain, leading panel output volume, and advanced technological capabilities. It has formed an "one core, one circle" layout centered in Hefei, with coordinated development involving cities like Chuzhou, Wuhu, Bengbu, Lu'an, and Huainan.

The establishment of the Anhui New Display Industry Association marks a significant milestone in the development of this sector within the province. This association is an industry-specific, non-profit social organization voluntarily formed by enterprises, institutions, and individuals engaged in R&D, manufacturing, and services related to new displays in Anhui.

To date, the association has enrolled over a hundred institutional members spanning industries, academia, research institutes, financial institutions, service providers, and end-users — forming a robust membership base characterized by broad representation, structural balance, diversity, and interconnectedness across the industrial ecosystem.

Going forward, leveraging its unique strengths—deep industry insight, corporate connections, and government relations—the association will tailor strategies based on regional comparative advantages. It will map enterprise needs with government "attracting investment and talent" policy, actively fostering mutually beneficial partnerships between businesses and governments.

In the first half of this year, the province's new display industry generated nearly ¥75 billion in revenue—up 9.8% YoY—accounting for almost 30% of the electronic information manufacturing sector. It has emerged as a key growth engine driving Anhui's high-quality development.
