In the first half of this year, Anhui Province maintained robust industrial production growth. The added value of industries above designated size increased by 8.4% year-on-year—2 percentage points higher than the national average—ranking 7th nationwide, and first among all central China provinces and within the Yangtze River Delta region.

A defining milestone is that in the first half of the year, both automobile production and new energy vehicle (NEV) output in Anhui ranked first nationwide. Additionally, output of industrial robots and service robots surged by 93.3% and 21.5%, respectively.

Whether in high-tech manufacturing or specific sectors like automobiles and robotics, today's growth builds upon foundations laid through long-term, unwavering commitment.

Anhui's industrial economy exhibited distinct structural optimization trends during the first half of the year.

In terms of scale, the province maintained its steady momentum from Q1 with an 8.4% increase in industrial added value above designated size—outpacing the national average. Notably, manufacturing added value grew at 10.4%, serving as the undisputed primary growth engine.

While fundamental indicators remain strong, two sets of critical data reveal profound qualitative shifts underway in Anhui's manufacturing sector. Notably, its high-tech manufacturing segment shone brilliantly: high-tech manufacturing added value above designated size jumped 23.6%, maintaining over 20% monthly growth for four straight months. Its contribution rate to industrial growth above designated size exceeded 40%, powerfully demonstrating how innovation drives industrial upgrading.

Within equipment manufacturing, all eight subdivisions posted growth. Five key industries—electronics & IT, automotive manufacturing, electrical machinery, metal products, and general equipment—collectively contributed 6.4 percentage points to the province's industrial growth above designated size.

The automotive industry stands out as one of Anhui's most striking achievements in industrial performance during the first half of the year.

On August 7, Anhui Provincial Department of Automobile announced its latest figures: In the first half of this year, the province produced 1.4995 million vehicles, including 730,900 new energy vehicles (NEVs)—securing both top positions nationwide in total auto output and NEV production.

Beyond complete vehicle assembly, Anhui has adopted a coordinated provincial strategy to optimize its industrial layout. It establishes an integrated regional development model featuring dual engines in Hefei and Wuhu, supplemented by supporting nodes across other cities—vigorously strengthening the automotive supply chain ecosystem.

The automotive industry has not only become the "locomotive" driving Anhui's industrial growth but has also powered foreign trade upgrading. In the first half of the year, mechanical and electrical products accounted for 71.9% of the province's total exports, with automobile exports growing by 23%.

The rapid unleashing of innovation energy has infused Anhui's industrial sector with both stabilizing strength and progressive vigor, driving its steady advancement toward greater intelligence, sustainability and competitiveness.
