Since the beginning of this year, Anhui has actively fostered an institutional environment where scientific and technological innovation leads industrial upgrading. By optimizing factor allocation, the province has empowered enterprises to achieve "leapfrogging across industrial tracks" through technological breakthroughs, thereby empowering the private sector to accelerate high-quality development.

In this new wave of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, private enterprises in Anhui have continuously made breakthroughs in core technologies within niche market segments. Currently, more than 70% of scientific and technical talent, and over 80% of major science and technology projects in the province are based within businesses. 

On this fertile land of innovation and entrepreneurship in Anhui, private enterprises are continuously forging new paths through technological breakthroughs. To better support their development, Anhui has not only established a comprehensive legal and policy framework addressing business environment optimization and intellectual property protection, but has also significantly enhanced support for high-quality development of the private economy across key elements including funding, technology and talent. From creating green channels for urgently needed professionals, to fostering collaborative innovation ecosystems integrating industry, academia, research and application - Anhui is paving a fast track for high-quality enterprise development through substantial financial commitments and institutional innovation.

Guided by market principles, rule of law, and international standards, Anhui has adopted multiple measures to support the expansion, optimization, and strengthening of its private economy. These efforts aim to enable the private sector to play an even greater role in the province's high-quality economic and social development.

With accelerated implementation of supportive policies, Anhui has achieved remarkable progress in nurturing private enterprises over the past year. The province cultivated 4,662 innovative SMEs and 1,732 provincial-level specialized and sophisticated "Little Giant" enterprises, while 113 firms were recognized as national-level "Little Giant" enterprises - ranking 7th nationwide. In 2024, Anhui reached a historic milestone with over 10 private enterprises making the China Top 500 Private Enterprises list, securing 11th place nationally. The momentum continues to strengthen this year - from January to May, value-added output of Anhui's private industrial enterprises above designated size grew 10.9% year-on-year, with high-tech industrial value-added output surging 23.6%, demonstrating accelerated high-quality development of the private sector.  

Anhui is currently at a critical stage of industrial transformation and upgrading, coupled with breakthroughs in scientific and technological innovation. A series of major strategic initiatives are being intensively implemented, providing robust legal and policy safeguards for the development of its private economy. Leveraging its inherent advantages such as flexible mechanisms and distinct strength in innovation, private enterprises are well-positioned to thrive in this environment and achieve remarkable success.
