Innovative and leading application scenarios provide a broader stage for the promotion and application of new technologies and products. Recently, Anhui Province announced the list of the top ten benchmark demonstration scenarios in Anhui Province for 2024, with cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence playing an innovative role across various scenarios. 

In recent years, Anhui has been coordinating the efforts to promote scenario innovation, accelerating the construction of a unified market for application scenarios across the province, actively organizing various scenario activities, strengthening supply and demand matching, and offering space for the demonstration of new technologies, products, and models.

Why is it important to promote scenario innovation? From a technological perspective, scenario innovation is a new paradigm driving the transformation of scientific and technological achievements; from an industrial perspective, it is a new path for promoting industrial transformation and upgrading, as well as an accelerator for the emergence of future industries; and from the perspective of urban development, it represents new ideas for enhancing urban governance.

As early as 2022, Hefei established a City Scenario Innovation Promotion Center and introduced policies to support scenario innovation, becoming one of the earliest cities in the country to layout and develop scenario innovation. Hefei took the lead in testing and promoting the implementation of provincial policies.

In 2023, the Provincial Science and Technology Department issued the "Action Plan for Accelerating Scenario Innovation and Building an Integrated Market for Application Scenarios Across the Province (2023-2025)," proposing that by 2025, an integrated market for application scenarios across the province would be essentially established. This would achieve unified collection and publication of scenario information across the province, discovery and display of quality scenario solutions, effective matching and intermediation between supply and demand sides of scenarios, and the construction of an application scenario service system with Anhui characteristics.

In December 2024, based on the "Action Plan," the Provincial Science and Technology Department released a guidance document (trial) on scenario innovation work, clarifying the six steps in the scenario innovation workflow.

In recent years, Hefei has persisted in closely integrating "government guidance" with "market leadership" in promoting scenario innovation, coordinating the city's scenario innovation resources, and constructing a "large scenario" work pattern. It pioneered the creation of "two scenario lists," which on one hand, releases urban scenario resources and opportunities, and on the other hand, promotes and finds markets for local excellent scenario capabilities.
