On the afternoon of January 13, the Mengcheng Station project successfully completed the task of topping out the main factory building. With this achievement, the main factory buildings for both the Mengcheng Station of the Phase II Yangtze-to-Huaihe water diversion Project and the water diversion gate projects for the Mengcheng, Guoyang, and Lixin water plants have all been topped out, successfully fulfilling the annual key construction target and achieving a great start in the first month. The Mengcheng Station is the first station on the Guohe River line of the Phase II Yangtze-to-Huaihe water diversion Project. It has a designed water diversion capacity of 50 cubic meters per second and is equipped with four units, with a total installed capacity of 8,800 kW. Its primary function is to store water from the Bengbu Gate on the Huaihe River, lift it to the upstream reach of the Mengcheng Gate through the Guohe River, and ensure the industrial and agricultural water supply along the route above the Mengcheng Gate. Once completed, the project will play a significant role in improving urban and rural water supply conditions and optimizing regional water resource allocation along the route. As the first project to commence in the Phase II Yangtze-to-Huaihe water diversion Project, since the start of construction, the Construction Management Office has made early plans, stationed supervisors on-site, coordinated with all participating units to work backward from the schedule, and implemented a schedule map to fully advance the progress of the project construction. The topping out of the main factory building at the Mengcheng Station marks the achievement of a phased victory in the general contracting project for the Mengcheng Station of the Phase II Yangtze-to-Huaihe water diversion Project and the water diversion gate projects for the Mengcheng, Guoyang, and Lixin water plants. It lays a solid foundation for ensuring the replacement of groundwater sources in 28 counties (cities, districts) in northern Anhui, and providing 30 million residents with access to the diverted water. Moving forward, the Construction Management Office will take this as an opportunity to closely monitor process control and risk hazard investigation and remediation, fully accelerate the progress of the project construction, and lay a solid foundation for the subsequent equipment installation and joint debugging.
