On January 14, 2025, the Spring Festival travel season officially kicked off. Early in the morning at Hefei Railway Station, young volunteers were on hand to offer steaming ginger soup and heartwarming breakfasts to passengers waiting in the cold, helping to ensure a cozy travel experience.
Reporters learned that the 2025 Spring Festival travel season runs from January 14 to February 22, lasting a total of 40 days. It is expected that Hefei Station will send off approximately 1.45 million person-time, marking a significant increase compared to the previous year. The passenger flow will mainly consist of students, family visitors, and migrant workers, with peak traffic concentrated in the week leading up to the Spring Festival. To accommodate the surge in passengers, Hefei Station plans to add 36 temporary trains to fully meet travel demands.

This year's Spring Festival travel efforts at Hefei Railway Station emphasize service orientation, organizing a series of activities under the "Warm Journey" initiative. These include warm ginger soup, heartwarming breakfasts, famous calligraphers writing Spring Festival couplets, and public service announcements by civilized units, all aimed at enhancing the public travel experience. The ginger soup activity will continue throughout the Spring Festival travel season, while Hefei Railway Station has coordinated with caring enterprises to provide about 3,000 servings of buns and congee for passengers who may be in a rush and unable to eat breakfast before catching their trains around 7 a.m.

To assist elderly, young, sick, and disabled passengers in making smooth transfers, Hefei Railway Station has launched the "Caring Relay" initiative, enabling seamless transfers between various modes of transportation for travelers. In preparation for adverse weather conditions, Hefei Railway Station has also made thorough preparations, stockpiling de-icing agents, snowplows, and other equipment, and forming an emergency response team to ensure smooth transportation and safe travel for passengers during icy rain and snow conditions.
