On January 7, BYD's "BYD HEFEI" roll-on/roll-off ship officially launched at the Guangzhou Shipyard International in Guangdong. Named after its Hefei factory, on its maiden voyage, it transported nearly 5,000 new energy vehicles to Europe, accelerating the internationalization process of China's new energy automobile industry. The "BYD HEFEI" is a clean energy ro-ro ship with dimensions of 199.9 meters in length and 38 meters in width. It has the capacity for 7,000 standard vehicle spaces and employs the latest LNG dual-fuel clean power technology, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 30% and accommodating diverse shipping route needs. The launch of the "BYD HEFEI" ro-ro ship marks an important step in BYD's globalization strategy. This giant vessel will not only carry thousands of new energy vehicles to various parts of the world but also symbolizes the brand-new image and strong capabilities of Chinese manufacturing. Anhui places great emphasis on expanding the automobile industry into international markets. The province has already formed a complete automotive industry chain, gathering 7 whole-vehicle enterprises and over 1,100 supporting enterprises above designated size. In 2024, Anhui's automobiles and parts were exported to 194 countries and regions worldwide, with export volume surpassing 1.4 million units, ranking first in the country. A representative person in charge from the Provincial Department of Commerce stated that Anhui would continue to create a top-tier business environment to support enterprise growth and development, bolster the automobile industry, especially by ensuring smooth operations for Anhui vehicles going abroad, aiming to achieve higher levels of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.
