In the first seven months of this year, Anhui Province exported electromechanical products worth 223.94 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12%, accounting for 69.8% of the total export value. The combined exports of "new trio"—electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaic products—reached 27.34 billion yuan, up 7.3% year-on-year. "Notably, the total export value of automobiles (including chassis) and parts was 67.99 billion yuan, an year-on-year increase of 24.6%, contributing 4.6 percentage points to the province's export growth," said Wang Debao, director of the Statistical Analysis Department of Hefei Customs. How did the automotive industry quickly become the leading driver of Anhui's export growth? In recent years, Anhui has aimed to build itself into a strong province for new energy vehicles, focusing on leading enterprises like Chery, JAC, NIO, and Volkswagen Anhui to achieve leapfrog development. The province has carefully mapped its industrial chain, strengthening and expanding it. As of the end of June, Anhui had over 1,360 automotive manufacturing enterprises above designated size, a net increase of more than 80 compared to last year. The production of new energy vehicles reached 621,000 units, marking an 81.4% year-on-year increase, with the national ranking rising from fourth last year to second. In the first half of this year, Anhui exported 404,100 cars (including chassis), ranking first in the nation with a year-on-year increase of 26.4%. The export value was 40.27 billion yuan, up 32%, with an average export price of 100,000 yuan per vehicle, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%.
