On April 29th, it was learned from China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd. that the railway transportation for the May Day holiday has started on the 29th of April. The Yangtze River Delta Railway was expected to transport around 2.65 million passengers on the 29th, with an increase of nearly 8% compared to the same period last year. The afternoon of April 29th marks the first peak period of passenger travel.

The railway transportation for the May Day holiday this year will last for 8 days, from April 29th to May 6th. During this period, the Yangtze River Delta Railway is expected to transport over 27 million passengers, with an average daily passenger flow of over 3.4 million. Starting from the afternoon of April 29th, major railway stations in the Yangtze River Delta region, such as Shanghai Hongqiao, Hangzhoudong, Nanjingnan, Hefeinan, and Xuzhoudong, will see a slight increase in the number of travelers compared to usual.

Based on the current ticket sales data, there was an increasing passenger flow from various places in the Yangtze River Delta to Beijing, Guangzhou, Fuzhou, Xiamen, and other medium and long-distance destinations on the 29th. There was also a small increase in passenger flow between central and sub-central cities in the Yangtze River Delta, such as Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Hefei, to tourist cities like Yangzhou, Lianyungang, Yancheng, and Huangshan. The passenger flow from other cities to Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Hefei, and Ningbo has also shown a significant increase compared to normal days.

It is worth noting that the recently opened Chizhou to Huangshan high-speed rail, which was launched on the eve of the May Day holiday, will also actively serve holiday travelers. The line connects several nationally famous attractions such as Jiuhua Mountain and Huangshan Scenic Area, becoming a truly golden tourist route. This line is connected to the Nanjing-Anqing high-speed rail at Chizhou Station and the Hangzhou-Nanchang high-speed rail at Yixiandong Station, providing convenient transfers for passengers.
