Anhui: Busy transport on Chaohu Lake's 'Golden Waterway'

On November 15th, ships loaded with cargo navigated orderly in the Chaohu Lake area of the Hefei-Yuxikou channel. 

As winter approaches, the Hefei-Yuxikou channel enters a busy period of water transport, with fully loaded cargo ships shuttling back and forth daily. It is understood that the Hefei-Yuxikou channel, known as the "Golden Waterway," has a total length of 139 kilometers. It passes through the Chaohu Lake area and directly connects to the Yangtze River via the Yuxi River. It is an important waterway for Hefei to connect to the Yangtze River and reach the sea. It is the third important waterway in Anhui Province after the Yangtze River and the Huaihe River. It is also one of the five national high-grade waterways in our province's "two main arteries and three branches" waterway system, allowing vessels up to 2,000 tons to navigate year-round.
